successful sim2real transfer of magnetic control policy on its face this experiment sounds dumb as hell bc you can run a new tokamak configuration maybe a couple times a day (tiny data volume) but seems to have worked wonders with shape rotation AI trained in simulo https://x.com/pfau/status/1494001370134896650

but honestly i think this speaks more to the quality of these simulators than anything else. i do hope that it increases the rate and simplicity of new shape config experiments because i'm making a similar bet in my own field
